Ken Griffith

 Ken Griffith -
 Minister of Music & Education

From his college years until the age of thirty, Ken
Griffith argued with the Lord about a call into the
ministry.  In 1988, while a member and deacon at First
Baptist Church, Cleveland, MS he finally surrendered to
full time ministry as a student and music minister.

He graduated from Quitman County High School in
1976.  He continued his education at Northwest Junior
College and graduated with an Associate in Education in
1979.  He then went to Delta State University and
completed his Bachelor of Science in Social Science in
1981.  He continued at Delta State University earning his
Master of Education in Guidance in 1983.  Ken also
completed a Certificate in Church Music from
New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1999.

Ken has previously served as Minister of Students & Music at Crowder Baptist Church of Crowder, MS from 1988 to 1989;  Gaston Baptist Church of Booneville, MS from 1989 to 2010.  Ken and his family answered the call to minister at Friendship Baptist Church of Grenada, MS as minister of music in 2010.
Ken and his wife, Robin, are the proud parents their son Aaron, their daughter Kelly & son-in-law, Thomas, and two lovely grandaughters.

Celeste Corey - Minister of Childhood Education

Celeste grew up in Grenada and was a member of Friendship Baptist church when God called her to the Mission field in 1994.  She served with the International Mission Board in Southeast Asia for 12 years.  In 2006, the Board asked Celeste to direct the children’s program at the missionary training center in Virginia.  In 2016 Celeste felt the Lord calling her back to Grenada to provide support for her extended family.  When Friendship asked her to be the Children’s Minister, she saw again how God’s timing puts His children where He wants them.

Celeste has a B.S. in Special Education from Mississippi State University, a Master Degree in Education with an emphasis Learning Disabilities from the University of Florida, and she attended Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN.  She taught school in Georgia, Florida and Mississippi for 10 years prior to serving on the mission field.

Celeste’s desire in ministry is that the children of Friendship and the surrounding community will come to know and worship the Lord Jesus Christ.  Everything done through the children’s ministry is designed to come alongside families as they encourage, equip, and empower their children to be disciples of Christ.
